An italian friend of mine complained the other day about how tough it was to find nice baby clothes here. The clothes all look the same, sometimes they're not very practical (a lot of buttons on the back for example), they're all in light colours and they're pretty expensive. She also said that she didn't have anything to put on her baby's head now that spring/summer has arrived so... I made her these for her baby girl, 2 months old:
A baby cap in a fabric I bought at the local market but it looks a little scandinavian, doesn't it? It's lined with a T'shirt fabric I had at home and a cotton ribbon. The pattern is my own.
A practical scarf in the same fabric and the back in fleece so It's soft against the baby's skin. I drew the pattern partly from a scarf my mum bought in Sweden and partly using this "pattern".
