I've been making these needle felted purses for about a year now and I love this technique. It's so much fun to pick the colours, the step from idea to realisation is pretty short and if you're not happy with the result it's easy to remove and redo. I actually sold some of these last summer and got an order for a new one (the one you see above). I've made them around 15x10 cm, sometimes with a contrasting fabric inside but the one above is a bit bigger and is supposed to be a small handbag (clutch).
I kept the grey/squared one for myself and use it to put my camera in because it's pretty watertight and the wool is thick enough to stop the camera from breaking if i drop it.
For the cat motif I was inspired by the classic Finnish/Swedish candy "Salta Katten".
By the way, I head that the pope proclaimed internet to be a gift from God to the human race so I guess we can all blog with a clean conscience now! :)
